I’m going to put this out there, and I really don’t care what anybody thinks, because plagiarism is plagiarism.
Generally speaking, if you have plagiarized another roleplayer — or another writer — in any context, and I find out about it, expect that I am going to forewarn people about you. Yes, that does mean that I will give out your username(s) if people ask so that they can make sure to document all of their ideas and keep an eye on your accounts. Why? Plagiarism is stealing. It’s thievery, and there is no way around it. I don’t care if you’ve plagiarized someone who is a friend to me or not. I will warn people about you, because, the moment you “borrowed” someone else’s hard work, you lost any possible opportunity for me to have any sympathy for you in any context. In my opinion, if you are a thief, people have the right to know about it. No, I will not publicly humiliate you, but I will call you out if I see you playing the victim or attempting to defend yourself by claiming it was “a mistake.”
A lot of people don’t know this, but you can accurately read a person’s present emotions through the things that they write. And thieves always give off the vibe that they have somehow been victimized.
So here’s a simple way to avoid having to go through all the hassle: Don’t fucking touch material listed on another person’s blog or account, be it here or elsewhere, without prior permission from said person. And, if they ask you not to take it — given that it is their headcanon for their version of a character — respect that, and back off.
Having had people rip me off before, I do not and will not take kindly to such actions. I will not say that they are unforgivable, but I will say that such things are not easily forgotten. So don’t do it.
